When you try to learn more about us—whether by browsing our Website or contacting us via email for more information—we collect various types of information.

When you first contact us, we collect:

Why: The data collected allows us to provide you with quality service when you first contact us and to help you easily find the information you are looking for. It also allows us to respond to your request.

We also automatically collect, in accordance with your cookie management preferences: your IP address, information provided by cookies or similar technologies, such as the type and version of the browser you use to access our Site, its language, your operating system, your time zone, your geographic location, the page or terms that led you to our Site, the amount of time you spend on our Site, the pages you view, the time you spend on each page, the identity of your Internet service provider, as well as the date and time you access our Site.

Why: The data collected allows us to analyze how our Site is used and accessed, enabling us to enhance its functionality and optimize it to better meet the needs of our users. The data collected is also used for optimization, improvement, and marketing purposes (including for the purpose of displaying paid advertising on social media). Subscribe to our newsletter

When you decide to subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address or phone number (for text messages) via a form. Once you’ve subscribed, we also collect data regarding your interactions with our messages and their content.

Why: We use this information to subscribe you to our newsletter, as requested, and to optimize our marketing practices.

Creating an Account on Our Site

When you create an account on our Site, we collect the following information:

Once the account is created, we also collect information related to your activities on our Site, such as:

  • Loyalty program data (if you have enrolled), such as points earned and rewards received
  • Reviews left about our products

Making a Purchase on Our Site

When you make a purchase through our Site, some of your personal information is collected automatically, depending on your cookie settings, and other information is collected when you complete your purchase via a form.

Apply for a Job Opening

When you decide to apply to work with us, we ask you to provide certain personal information so that we can process your application. This information is collected through the form available on our Website or via email.

We collect:

  • Resume
  • Cover Letter (optional)
  • Any information you voluntarily provide to us as part of the process.

Why: We use this information to review your application, verify whether your profile matches what we are looking for, and respond to your application, if applicable.

WHO DO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH AND WHY?

We never sell our users’ personal information. Your data is shared only in accordance with this Policy. When you consent to this Policy, however, we may share your personal information with the following parties:

Various Oraki departments: Internally, your personal information is shared with departments that need it to carry out their activities, such as customer service, accounting, and marketing.

Third-party providers: In the course of our business, we may need to share some of your data with certain third parties.

For example, we may share some of your data with our IT providers so they can fulfill their mandate or perform a service contract. This may include processing your purchases, handling your payments, or providing marketing services.

Generally, the providers we use will only collect, use, and disclose your information to the extent necessary to perform the services they provide to us, such as hosting our Site via Cloudflare in Ontario.

However, some third-party service providers have their own privacy policies regarding the information we are required to provide to them when we use their services. With regard to these providers, we recommend that you carefully read their privacy policies so that you can understand how they will handle the personal information they collect.

Please note that some of these providers are located outside of Quebec, and your data may therefore be transferred abroad. The location of each of our IT providers is specified below.

Once you leave our Site or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Policy.

We will take the necessary measures to protect the confidentiality of this information and will destroy it if the transaction is not completed or if its use is no longer necessary for the purpose of completing the transaction.

We will respond to your request as soon as possible. Please provide us with sufficient details so that we can identify you and respond to your request.

WHERE YOUR DATA IS STORED

Your personal information is hosted in Ontario on Cloudflare’s servers.


HOW LONG WE STORE YOUR DATA


We will retain all collected information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which we collected it or for other essential purposes, such as complying with legal obligations. We will destroy this data at the end of this period, or if you decide to withdraw your consent. If you request it, once your data has been deleted, you will receive confirmation that your request has been processed.


SECURITY


To protect your personal data, we take reasonable precautions to ensure that it is not lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed inappropriately.

For example, our Site uses the HTTPS protocol for communications, secured by an SSL certificate. It also features a two-factor authentication process.

Internally, we ensure that access to data is granted only to authorized individuals who need it for their work.

AGE OF CONSENT


We do not solicit or collect personal information from children under the age of 14. If you are a parent or guardian and realize that a child under the age of 14 has provided us with personal information, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 14 without parental consent, we will delete any such information that may have been collected.

If you are not satisfied with our response to a request regarding your personal information, you may contact the Commission d'accès à l’information du Québec, the public body responsible for overseeing personal data management and processing practices in Quebec.
